Where you'll be working
Royal North Shore Hospital (RNSH) is one of 3 major centres for burn injuries in NSW.
The unit together with Concord, and the Children’s Hospital Westmead, is part of the NSW Severe Burn Injury Service.
Hospitals from around the state contact staff in the units for advice and refer serious burn injuries for specialist treatment.
What you'll be doing
The core aspects of the role will be the delivery of safe, quality practice including the development of specialist plans of care that meet the needs of the client as an independent member of the multidisciplinary team The NP will also have a collaborative link with the Community Health Nursing services around the state.
The successful applicant will be required to provide effective leadership and support to clinical staff specialising in Burns and Plastic Surgery Nursing.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with endorsement from the Nurses and Midwifery Board Australia to work at an advanced level as a Nurse Practitioner in in Plastic surgery Burns and Complex wounds OR Registered Nurse willing to enroll in a Tertiary master’s Program for Nurse Practitioner and complete within a reasonable period of time.
- Significant and demonstrated experience in Plastic surgery Burns andComplex wounds.
- Demonstrated high level of communication and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of the principles of EEO, OH&S, EQUIP and QI.
- Demonstrated understanding and use of Evidence-based nursing practice.
