The role
About this opportunity
The Operations Manager is accountable for all matters that affect the operations and is expected to take clear and decisive action quickly and professionally, by the values and policies of the organization.
The position implements decisions made by Head Office management. Decisions made must align with Immix core values, ethical standards, strategic plans, and priorities and must also meet legislative and regulatory frameworks and policies, and procedural guidelines.
This is a hands-on role; you'll work with your team to achieve daily KPIs by operating various plant & equipment.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Implement safety and environmental compliance and manage employee well-being and the site's performance in accordance with the Immix policies across all Immix sites.
- Manage all site's quality and compliance in accordance to Immix Quality policy and customer requirements
- Manage the operational supply chain to meet the customer’s expectations and the operational budget.
- Practice Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence to maintain and improve standards, ensuring profitability and meeting customer demand
- Facilitate regular communication meetings in line with standard operational meetings & business requirements
- Makes improvements to management products, systems, processes, and practices to improve safety, service delivery, reporting, quality, and costs
- Manages and/or supports capital-related projects
- Monitors ethical practices, standards and systems and reinforces their use
Your skills and experience
- Strong recycling background with experience in the recycling industry
- 10-15 years in a senior leadership position (seasoned)
- Experienced commercial negotiator in a competitive environment
- Superior communication skills. A personable leader across all levels (from shop floor to the board room)
- Materials Handling Industry background
- Scrap Metal background (non- essential)
