Located in Mt Helena and set amongst 52 acres of bushland, Amaroo Retreat & Spa is a luxury, adults-only escape.
Amaroo includes 8 adults only five-star luxury accommodation chalets, an indulgent day spa, cosmetic clinic and a Restaurant catering for 50 guests. All just a short 45-minute drive from Perth CBD.

The Role
Reporting to the Owner of Amaroo Retreat & Spa and coming from a strong Toursim/F&B hospitality background you are operationally driven with attention to detail. You will thrive in successfully running the day-to-day operations. You always push to succeed in anything you attempt and surpassing targets is your passion. You have the experience to both mentor and develop a Head of Department team to deliver quality and consistency in every facet of the business.
Responsible for the proper functioning and daily operations of Amaroo Retreat & Spa you form part of the Executive Team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading a team to drive positive outcomes and deliver business objectives
- Ensure guest satisfaction levels and monitor guest feedback
- Preparing for and running Head of Department meetings, provide reporting at Executive Team meetings, and regular one on one meetings with key staff.
- Weekly review of accounts and preparation of wages, to be sent to bookkeeper
- Overseeing rostering compiled by Head of Departments
- Overseeing Maintenance schedule, asset register and organising of various suppliers and tradespeople
- Managing compliance requirements for guests, staff, and visitors, including risk and safety plans
- Implementation of improvement projects
- Management of HR requirements in relation to full time, part time and casual staff including, contracts, performance reviews, and recruitment.
- Maintaining communication with all team members, including inspiring staff, leading by example and being a great company ambassador.
- Working with the Executive Leadership team and owners to develop strategies to maximise occupancy, revenue, staff utilisation, productivity and profitability.
- Ongoing analysis of services and implementation of rates/pricing changes
- Oversee marketing activities
- Facilitate and guide event management requirements
- Improving and standardising operational policies, procedures and processes.
- Supporting the owners of the business.

The successful applicant will possess:
- Operations, leadership and management experience within facilities, property, or hospitality sector
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to liaise professionally with all stakeholders
- A hands-on approach to management, and strong organisational skills
- A friendly, self-motivated personality with excellent people skills
- A passion for the hospitality industry with the ability to create a positive and proactive working environment
- Hands-on and solution focused attitude
- Strong ability to process improve and implement systems and strategies
- Full, unrestricted driver’s license
The following attributes are also considered desirable:
- Tertiary qualifications in a related field
- Experience using hospitality and tourism systems and tools such as RMS, Deputy, Fresha, NowBookIt, Bookings.com, Trip Advisor
- 5 years’ experience as Operations Manager for a multi-use site
- Managing a team of 20 plus staff
- Managing website using Wordpress based CMS
- Strong reporting and analysis skills
- Current Approved Manager’s Certificate
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current Food Supervisor or Food Handlers Certificate
