Operations Manager

- Located in Sydney, CBD with flexibility to WFH 2 days per week

Medical Deans Australia and New Zealand is the peak body representing professional entry-level medical education, training and research. The members are in medical schools across the two countries, focusing on planning for, developing and supporting medical graduates.
About the role:
Reporting to the CEO, the Operations Manager role is dedicated to facilitating and managing a wide range of operations within an academic organisation. With a focus on connecting with members, managing projects, and engaging with stakeholders, the Operations Manager will oversee and streamline our processes, ensuring efficiency and excellence in our day-to-day operations.
You will also:
- Manage and oversee the operations team, fostering a collaborative and solution-oriented team environment.
- Facilitate a variety of events, including invitation roundtables, webinars, and other group meetings.
- Ensure smooth running of systems and processes, addressing any double handling and improving efficiency.
- Provide oversight for finance-related tasks, assisting with external audits and ensuring financial processes are followed.
- Take responsibility for multiple projects, ensuring they are completed on time and to a high standard.
- Engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including government, health services, mental health training providers, and academic institutions.
To be successful in this role you will be an experienced, proactive and solutions-focused manager, with excellent people management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to coach and lead a team.
- Strong project management, operational management, and/or executive support experience.
- Experience with technology, comfortable with the Microsoft Suite with the capabilities and desire to learn new programs where necessary
- Result-orientated, efficient, proactive and able to engage and motivate the teams
- Strong experience in project-based management, with the ability to oversee internal and external contributing factors
- High level of professionalism, and excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels, both internally and externally
