About the ROLE:
We are seeking a high performer to take up a pivotal position in our business! Joining a business which is experiencing exponential growth, your new position will be reporting to the General Manager of Operations.
The Operations Manager will be instrumental in optimising the productivity and sustainability of our operations, by meeting production targets, and ensuring overall workflow efficiency. You will be an inspiring leader, who will support and manage the APT manufacturing teams across the Extrusion, Tufting and Polymer Coatings Factories. Your remit will ensure delivery to production requirements and performance improvement activities across safety, quality, schedule adherence, cost control and team engagement.
Other responsibilities included (but not limited to) are:
- Foster ‘Safety Always’ culture by promoting safe work methods and operations that comply with Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and ensure that all employees understand their individual duty of care regarding workplace safety.
- Oversee all operations in the Australian plant.
- Supervise the planning, production and stock movements of the factory, by effective, efficient controls and procedures.
- Ensure continuous improvement and cost reduction by supporting and driving APTA Lean Manufacturing objectives including education of the workforce in best practice.
- Maximise OEE by implementing Total Productive Maintenance.
- Active coaching and guidance to support staff capability and morale.
- Act as the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Coordinator for all APAC ESG activities.
- Lead change management activities as required.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address operational challenges.
- Monitor and Control maintenance of machinery.
- Take accountability for annual budget preparation assigned activities.
- Monitor budget performance and oversee cost reduction initiatives.
- Contribute to maintaining the quality assurance accreditation within the Australian production facility.
- Participate in a Senior Management meetings to provide operational direction and influence to the employees within the Group.
- Embed a continuous improvement culture.
About YOU:
- Strong HSE understanding and track record.
- Strong experience managing in a production environment.
- A proven track record of managing, leading, and directing a successful production team.
- Experience in being a strong change agent and key influencer.
- Strong HSE understanding and track record.
- Proficient in manufacturing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent problem-solving, strategic planning (short term and long term), and analytical skills.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Experience with ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 certifications.
