Operator – Street Cleaning/Landfill
Location: Tamworth, NSW

The Water & Waste Directorate are looking for an individual with experience in the operation of plant and equipment related to commercial or infrastructure/facilities cleaning. You will be a hardworking and reliable individual with a willingness to learn and further develop your knowledge skills and experience within the team.
The Operator, Street Cleaning/Landfill is responsible for:
Safely and legally operate and maintain plant and equipment used in the cleaning of roads, car parks, public amenities and street footpaths and to assist in the operation and maintenance of Council’s Waste Facilities.
Operating a range of plant and equipment used in conjunction with street cleaning e.g Duel Control vehicle
Operating and maintaining small plant and equipment
Following procedures and processes
Working with minimum supervision
Working effectively with others
NOTE: The Ordinary Hours for this position are worked to a seven-day roster which includes night and weekend work in accordance with a roster which is based on a 9 day fortnight arrangement. Generally, the ordinary hours of work are rostered between 4:00 am and 1:00 pm.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED
Certificate III in Civil Construction, Waste Management, Plant or similar OR at least five years experience in a related field e.g. commercial or infrastructure/facilities cleaning, truck driving, civil construction/maintenance, plant operation etc
First Aid
OH&S Induction training for Construction Work Certificate.
Immunisations Hepatitis A & B, Tetanus, Q Fever

Salary range: Grade 6 - $1,044.60 - $1,130.40 per week excluding superannuation and allowances for a 38 hour work week. Salary may be negotiated based on skills, experience and your value to our organisation.
Flexible working arrangements will be considered by mutual agreement and according to operational requirements.
