Job description

Our successful candidate will work across the orthopaedic services at The Maitland Hospital, where they will work closely with stakeholders from various professional groups such as Nursing, Allied Health and the Orthopaedic Medical team. Daily duties include overseeing and facilitating communication channels with patients seeking orthopaedic services across various stages of their healthcare journey. This includes coordinating appointments for clinic visits, scheduling elective surgeries, and addressing the needs of patients requiring unplanned surgical interventions.

Maitland is well connected by road, rail and air, is located less than two hours north of Sydney, only 15 minutes from Hunter Valley Wine Country and 30 minutes from Newcastle.

Requirements and Additional Information: 

  • Registered Nurse or Allied Health Professional with current AHPRA registration
  • Extensive clinical experience in an operating theatre or with orthopaedics is highly desirable
  • An eligibility list will be created for future permanent full or part time and temporary full or part time vacancies

This is a Category A position. Acceptable proof of COVID-19 vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement (IHS), or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate, or AIR COVID-19 and Influenza IHS. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. 

To be eligible for permanent employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport. Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable local candidate is identified for the position; in this instance, you may only be offered employment in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.
