A service based in Mount Waverley is looking for a passionate and organised Assistant Coordinator for children in our before and after school care capacity. This is a permanent part-time position at 26.25 hours per week all year round - the perfect balance!
Hours are as follows: Monday - Friday, 07:30 - 09:30 AM (Rise then Shine Program) and 02:45 - 06:00 PM (Stay and Play Program).
About the role:
Co-managing a team of Educators, you'll have the perfect balance of support and leadership opportunities. You will manage a service at a primary school in the hours before and after school for children aged 5-12 years, with the support of a state specific office, plus regional managers who regularly visit and mentor you at your service.
- Develop and facilitate an engaging child-centered program full of exciting experiences such as STEM, sport, cooking, art and craft - whatever you and the children are into!
- Foster healthy relationships with children, the school, community, and parents
- Lead a team of Educators onsite, including roster management
- Manage the day-to-day operations of your service including compliance and administration

About the service
Based in Mount Waverley, this service would see you embedded in a caring school community. Operating out of the hall, you will also have access to classrooms and outdoor play space. You'll have an excellent opportunity to step up your leadership skills with a team of 6 educators
Who are we looking for?
We can teach you about the job and sector, but a few basics you need to have:
- Leadership and team management skills, with the ability to work alongside a Coordinator in mentoring the team
- Strong administrative skills
- Strong and clear communication in order to build positive relationships with children, parents and staff
- Adaptability, flexibility and problem solving!
- Hold or willing to obtain a national police check (we'll pay for it!) and a state check for working with children
- Australian work rights
- Preferably Diploma qualified
