Our client, a prominent player in the retail and eCommerce sector, is in search of a skilled Payroll Manager to join their ranks!! This is a full-time role that offers WFH Flexibility four days a week, with only Wednesdays in their offices located just south of Brisbane. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Payroll Manager's focus will be on ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all aspects of payroll processing for the team using the MicroPay system. This is a HANDS ON Payroll Manager role, so, we are looking for someone happy to have their 'hands on the tools' in addition to managing a Senior Payroll Officer and Payroll Officer. Previous Management and reporting experience is a must, even of only 1-2 people.Desired Skills and Experience:
This role involves coordinating with both internal and external advisor stakeholders. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, contributing to the financial success and compliance of the organisation. Working across many aspects of the business, you must be self-motivated and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. The ideal candidates will have proven retail experience in a similar role.
- Proven experience: A minimum of 7 years in payroll experience.
- Management Experience - Leading a team of two, and preparing reporting to the board is a vital element of this role.
- Regulatory knowledge: Strong understanding of payroll laws, regulations, and tax compliance.
- Deadline management: Ability to meet deadlines and excel under pressure.
- Excel proficiency: Strong working knowledge of Excel.
- Detail-oriented: Analytical mindset with meticulous attention to detail.
- Retail & eCommerce insight: Experience in retail and eCommerce is advantageous.
- Tech skills: Familiarity with MicroPay, HumanForce/TimeTarget, EnableHR, Domo, SQL, Infor M3, Floqast ideal, however, training can be provided on these systems if required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately processing and reviewing payroll for AU & NZ employees, ensuring compliance with labour laws.
- Maintaining and updating payroll records, including tax exemptions and deductions.
- Reconciling payroll accounts, investigating, and resolving discrepancies.
- Ensuring full compliance with local labour laws, taxation requirements, and superannuation regulations.
- Collaborating with the wider finance team and HR department for seamless coordination.
- Timely completion of weekly payroll duties and month-end tasks.
- Ensuring all reconciliations are cleared within agreed timeframes.
- Driving KPIs for team success and supporting business improvement initiatives.
