Primary Objective
As part of the Finance Team, the Payroll Officer ensures the accurate and timely payment of staff wages, adhering to legislative requirements, policies, and procedures. The primary tasks of this position include:
Qualifications and Experience:
- Relevant Associate Diploma, Certificate, or relevant experience to undertake the range of duties required.
- Previous experience administering all aspects of payroll.
Core Competencies:
- Understands the needs of staff, management and external regulatory bodies and the requirements to meet payment and information service obligations within specific timeframes.
- Understands the importance of confidentiality with regard to staff private and work information.
- High level of computer literacy with strong skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including staff, management, system software administrators, external regulatory bodies, and other departments such as HR and rosters.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- High level of problem-solving skillsDemonstrates effective communication skills.
- High level of attention to detail.
Other Requirements:
- Understanding of Fair Work and relevant awards, particularly the Social
- Community Home Care and Disability Services Award and the Nursing Award.
- Familiarity with the application of Superannuation legislation, Workcover,
- Paid Parental leave schemes and child support payments.
