Salary Range: $73,063 - $76,611 per annum (Pro rata) pending experience
Tenure: Full Time, Permanent
Commencing Date: 1 April 2024

About the role
Townsville Catholic Education Office is currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Payroll Officer. This role is a full time or part-time, permanent positionand hours are negotiable,the role commences on 1 April 2024.
The payroll Officer will work closely with the Payroll Coordinator to focus on payroll improvement initiatives including implementation of supporting process documentation, instructions and communication, as required. The role will further support the efficient and effective fortnightly payroll processes for all Townsville Catholic Education staff.
The purpose of this role is to work effectively with the broader team members to prepare and process in a timely manner a high quality, accurate payroll, with a focus on compliance and customer service in accordance with legislation, policies and agreements.
About you
- Proven experience in a payroll related role medium to large organisation
- Demonstrated ability to apply the provisions of awards, legislation, policy and procedure
- Previous experience displaying professional and effective interpersonal, communication and liaison skills with both internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to professionally communicate and liaise with a range of stakeholders internal and external.
- High level of computer literacy and proficiency in a variety of programs including online platforms such as Microsoft Office, Google Suite, iChris or other HRIS systems, email management and intranet suites.
- Ability to prioritise work and meet regular and competing deadlines
Mandatory Criteria
- Current Working with Children Suitability Card - The successful candidate will require a paid Blue Card before commencement as per the No Card, No Start policy developed by Queensland Government
- Certificate level qualification or higher or equivalent relevant experience and / or education / training
- Current Driver’s Licence
- Ability to travel from time to time within the Catholic Diocese of Townsville
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience with iChris will be highly regarded
