Salary commensurate with experience Professional Level 5 $76,958 - $88,395 pro rata plus super

About the teamLed by the Head of Finance, the team comprises of a Financial Accountant, Management Accountant and two Finance Officers. The Finance team provides a full suite of financial support services for the Centre for Eye Research Australia (CERA) and Cerulea.
The roleReporting to the Head of Finance, the Payroll Officer is responsible for the end-to-end processing of the fortnightly payroll for approximately 150 staff members across both entities.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Accurate, timely and efficient end to end payroll processing including lodgements to external parties
Accurate transactional processing including the onboarding and offboarding of employees, leave, allowance, salary packaging, superannuation and deductions.
Liaise with staff and management regarding payroll related queries including resolving issues and discrepancies
Maintain and manage employee records within Aurion to ensure database integrity is preserved
Reconciliation of monthly and annual payroll data and generation of regular and ad hoc reporting
End of year processing including submission of EOFY income statements
Work collaboratively with the HR team regarding staff movements, appointments and departures, conditions of service and other relevant matters
Contribute to the development and implementation of process improvement initiatives and policies.
Your skills and experience
Proven experience in a payroll related role
High level interpersonal skills, including the ability to form productive professional relationships and communicate effectively with various stakeholders
Strong organisational, problem solving and decision-making skills
Ability to prioritise workloads, meet timelines and work under pressure to ensure efficient and effective delivery of services
Exceptional attention to detail
High level of computer literacy with proficiency in word processing and spreadsheets.
Operational knowledge pertaining to personnel management, including interpreting personnel related policies and Awards
Recognise the importance of maintaining confidentiality
A solutions-oriented approach with a commitment to working collaboratively with others and fostering a supportive team environment
Experience with Aurion will be highly regarded.
