Purpose of the Role
To administer and assist with the processing of payroll in a timely, confidential, and accurate manner.
Working as part of the Payroll team, in the People Services department, required to administer payroll for employees of Auto & General groups in compliance with all policies& procedures, State & Federal legislation
Position Accountabilities
Reporting to the Payroll Manager you will be responsible for:
- High volume payroll processing
- Efficient and accurate processing of payroll
- Checking and maintaining employee data payroll data
- Transactional data, including allowances, deductions and leave
- Successful resolution of payroll related queries and issues including adjustments and back payments
- Calculation and processing of termination payments
- Processing of hours, placement movements and increases.
- Other adhoc administrative duties
- Maintain data accuracy within Aurion and associated systems
- Fortnightly and Monthly reports.
- Liaise with HR regarding staff appointments, terminations, conditions of service and other relevant matters
- Recognising problem areas including compliance issues as they arise and alerting the Payroll Manager
- Recommending changes for procedures and policies
Qualifications and Experience:
- Perform fortnightly payruns and handle end-to-end payroll processing, including month-end reporting, leave management, allowance and deductions administration, hours and placement movements, terminations, and Workcover.
- Minimum 2 years of payroll experience.
- Experience interpreting Enterprise Agreements, Awards, and HR policies.
- Proven professionalism and proactive attitude towards work.
- Strong customer focus and attention to detail.
- Desired skills include verbal and written communication, Aurion experience (preferred), ability to work independently and collaboratively, organization and time management, problem-solving, intermediate MS Office skills, and understanding of payroll-related legislative and regulatory requirements.
