The Leaders
With the payroll function reporting into the Head of Employee Experience, this role gives you the opportunity to contribute to a high-performing people and culture function who are passionate about fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. By working with experienced leaders across remuneration & benefits, employee experience and payroll, this role will enable you to refine and develop your skillset and give you a launching pad for a future career in people operations and/or payroll.
The Opportunity
This is a true, end-to-end payroll position with touchpoints across the broader employee experience function. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Overseeing the processing of both a fortnightly and monthly pay run
- Executing key payroll specific employee lifecycle tasks such as contract generation and terminations;
- Assisting with reporting requirements;
- Collating and inputting timesheets into the time and attendance platform;
- Ongoing upkeep of the payroll system;
- Being the point of contact for internal employee queries as well as helping to action customer enquiries;
- Effectively collaborating with other business units when required.
Setting you up for success in this role will be a level-headed approach, a strong attention to detail and the patience to operate in a more manual payroll function. You’ll be committed to upholding a high level of customer service and be proactive in helping to solve stakeholder queries.
On a technical level, exposure to Preceda is advantageous but not necessary, however you’ll exhibit a degree of adaptability and be confident in learning a new system at pace. With a new system implementation on the horizon, you’ll also be comfortable in navigating change. Having been exposed to a larger organisation or working as part of a payroll team within an HR function would also help you in acclimatising to the team and environment.
With an immediate January start date required, you’ll be hungry and ambitious and looking to utilise the initial 6 months as an opportunity to take your career to the next level.
