Role summary:
Due to expansion, the role of Payroll Officer has become available. This position will form part of the collaborative payroll team at our head office based in Chatswood and reports to the Payroll Manager.
The successful applicant will receive training and support from our highly experienced and hands-on management team.
Skills and Experience:
- 2+ years proven experience as a Payroll Officer or similar role.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications, strong administration skills.
- Working knowledge of payroll/ accounting systems including: MicrOpay and Microsoft Excel.
- Expertise in time and attendance systems such as EmpLive is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills - proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English is essential.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to details.
Key responsibilities include:
- Setting up new employees on payroll and in T&A systems accurately.
- Assist in end-to-end payroll processing including workers compensation pays, termination pays in accordance with the legislation, awards/enterprise agreements and advice received from Operations and HR.
- Assist with ongoing projects in relation to system/process improvement as required.
- Prepare and review fortnightly payrolls, working closely with the managers to chase up deadlines.
- Prepare weekly, fortnightly, and monthly reports for the management.
- Ensure employee due diligence is carried out and reported, including Right to Work in Australia, Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check and NDIS.
- Assist with queries from internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide support to perform general administrative task when required.
- Other duties as directed by the managers.
