PURPOSE
The People & Culture Advisor is responsible for providing generalist People & Culture support to the organisation. This is a generalist and project-based role which requires confidence being able to advise on general terms of employment law and organisational policies to all employees. The role is also responsible for leading a number of core P&C projects including HR Systems implementation and improvement as well as acting as the Recruitment lead for all Administrative roles. This role coordinates annual statistical reporting for Creative Australia and various other government agencies, and processes payroll as the need arises.
The role also supports the Director, People & Culture and Senior Advisor, Culture & Wellbeing on other projects and programs as required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as the initial point of contact for People & Culture.
- Act as the organisational lead in administering and maintaining the Human Resource Information System (HRIS).
- Coordinate and administer all aspects of the employee life cycle.
- Ensure People & Culture policies and procedures are maintained and current.
- Support the Director, People & Culture in conducting Enterprise Bargaining.
- Assist with Work Health and Safety matters.
- Support payroll with any operational and pay documentation requests.
- Manage payroll process when Payroll Manager is on leave.
- Ensuring accurate and proper record- keeping of employee information.
- Record and schedule employee learning and development.
- Research and recommend employee professional development opportunities.
- Assist with annual statistical reporting to various government agencies.
- Support the Company’s Values and Mission Statement by leading by example in implementing Company Values.
- Be an ambassador for the company values of Integrity, Connection and Joy.
- Provide wellbeing support to colleagues as required.
- Support the People & Culture Department with administrative, generalist and operational support as required.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience.
- A proactive, anticipatory approach to work and a track record of successfully managing projects and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, combined with strong attention to detail.
- Experience implementing and maintaining HRIS
- Full understanding of HR functions and best practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
- Highest possible ethical standards in all aspects of professional life.
- 3-5 years-experience in a similar role.
- Excellent organisational, time management and administrative skills,
- Ability to interact positively with various stakeholders.
- Knowledge of employment law.
- Passion for arts, culture, and classical music.
DESIRABLE
- Previous experience working in the not- for- profit industry or Performing Arts.
