This credible and trusted organisation is seeking a People & Culture Manager on a 12-month maternity leave contract based in their locally operated Cairns office.
Your new role
One of the key focuses of this role will be to partner with the firm as a Talent Acquisition and Engagement Specialist. You will work amongst a team of more than 65 staff, working in the heart of Cairns for North Queensland’s largest full-service accounting firm. You will play an active role in leading creative strategies to optimise the attraction and retention of future talent and embed the organisation as an employer of choice in North Queensland. Other key responsibilities will include:
On boarding and off boarding
Employee engagement
Remuneration, reward, recognition and benefits
Working closely with our Management Accountant to ensure the accurate processing of the firms fortnightly payroll
Performance management
Learning and Organisational Development
Systems and reporting including HRIS management
Work, Health and Safety
Maintenance of up-to-date policies and procedures
Industrial relations.
What you'll need to succeed
Tertiary qualifications in Human Resource Management or similar
5+ years HR generalist experience in a similar role
A solid understanding of the Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards and Modern Awards
The ability to think strategically as well as “on your feet”
The ability to multitask and be flexible whilst operating in a fast paced environment
Excellent interpersonal skills including strong communication skills as well as the ability to build and maintain business relationships internally and externally
High level of attention to detail
Strong people management skills with a collaborative approach
Ability to lead and motivate others
Professionalism, confidentiality and discretion
Exceptional organisational skills and a proactive self-starter with the ability to manage own time and workload
Ability to identify and solve problems
Strong IT skills as well as willing and able to learn new technologies quickly.
