Your opportunity
As a Pest Management Officer you will provide high quality Pest Management services utilising best practice processes to achieve positive environmental and public health outcomes for the community. We are seeking applicants who have knowledge of Pest Management, chemical handling and safety, and best practice protocols, relevant public health and environmental issues and regulatory requirements.
Guided by our Values, you will:
- Have the ability in surveying Redland City for biosecurity and public health risks associated with designated pests, mosquito breeding, vermin harbourage and biosecurity matters (including Fire Ants).
Have knowledge of safe usage, transportation, storage and disposal of pesticides and other pest control products in accordance with legislative requirements.
Provide administrative support to the team, including dealing with telephone enquiries, and other generalist administrative duties.

- Has well developed knowledge and understanding of Pest Management, chemical handling and safety, fire ant and mosquito control technology and best practice protocols.
Has experience in the interpretation and application of legislation applicable to the Pest Management functions.
Has demonstrated experience in undertaking and participating in a range of technical tasks and projects relating to Pest Management such as habitat modification, pest surveillance & treatment and vermin control and biosecurity matter (fire ant) control.

Eligibility
- You'll have a manual 'C' Class Drivers’ Licence.
- You'll consent to a pre-employment medical with a demonstrated ability and physical fitness to perform a range of strenuous tasks and functions for prolonged periods of time.
