The Afternoon Shift Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the day-to-day operations of Cold Storage facility based at a Mickleham site. This includes managing stock control, ensuring the timely retrieval and delivery of goods, planning, organizing, and controlling the staff of the warehouse operations, ensuring the warehouse is always presentable, and providing guidance and support to peers.
The Warehouse Manager must also ensure workplace health and safety requirements are being met, all HACCP requirements are being met, and report any areas of concern to the OH&S Manager. The position requires a high level of process discipline, attention to detail, self-motivation, and feedback to management.
Major Responsibility Areas:
- Manage all aspects of the day-to-day operations, including managing stock control, ensuring the timely retrieval and delivery of goods, planning, organizing, and controlling the staff of the warehouse operations, and ensuring the warehouse is always presentable.
- Ensure workplace health and safety requirements are being met, all HACCP requirements are being met, and report any areas of concern to the OH&S Manager.
- Ensure effective communication with all internal staff, maintain, and develop professional relationships with all external stakeholders/suppliers/customers/truck drivers.
- Drive OHS compliance and improvement, train, develop and coach both new and existing staff, promote team culture, and constantly motivate staff to strive for efficient and effective warehouse management.
- Provide feedback to management on possible improvements that may be made.
- OHS experience and appreciation that staff safety is paramount.
- Previous experience in a similar role/capacity. Red Meat and poultry warehousing would be ideal but not necessary.
- Strong planning, coordinating, and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow processes and procedures accurately.
- Excellent people and process skills.
- Hands-on approach with a high attention to detail.
- Ability to supervise, train and develop staff.
- Forklift license and experience are essential.
- Salary: $100,000 plus superannuation.
- Hours: 2pm - 10pm (Flexibiity as required)
