Ungooroo is looking for a part-time Practice Nurse to provide supportive clinical care as part of a larger multi-disciplinary team, focussed on improving health outcomes for the local Aboriginal community and others who use the service.
The Practice Nurse will work closely with Ungooroo’s general practitioners in providing primary health care and support services.

About the Role
- General health screening and assessment.
- First aid assistance with emergency procedures.
- Work with the clinic GPs to provide assessments and support the preparation of health management and care plans.
- Coordinate clients within the multidisciplinary health team and feedback between the services, patients and GP.
- Pathology collection, diagnostic procedures (eg ECG) and assistance with minor procedures and wound care.
- Maintenance of client clinical records and compliance with all statutory obligations.
About You
- Demonstrated knowledge of and compliance with all relevant legislation and legal obligations related to nursing and patient care.
- Demonstrate patient-focused approach in service provision with genuine empathy and interest in patient needs.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across all ages and social groups.
- Maintain absolute confidentiality regarding patient and practice information.
Qualifications and Experience
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse and accreditation as a Nurse Immuniser.
- Understanding of current health issues relevant to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities particularly with chronic disease.
- Ability to communicate effectively with the local Aboriginal community in a non-discriminative and professional manner.
- Current and clear Criminal Record Check.
- Current and clear Working with Children Check.
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency.
- Experience in similar role as Practice Nurse or community-based nursing.
