Principal Governance Advisor

The Principal Governance Advisor is a key role to assure implementation and maintenance of all Corporate Governance activities within Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service (GCHHS). This role provides critical advice and support to the entire organisation, to ensure GCHHS Corporate Governance frameworks are robust, efficient, effective and are in-line with essential governance practices.

The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Principal Governance Advisorto join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

• Establish consultative relationships to supply advice on all aspects of corporate governance functions, risk management, compliance, control design and assessments
• Supply expert advice and recommendations on all Corporate Governance issues, systems, and processes
• Embed governance standards for integrating risk, compliance and policy obligations into existing practices and procedures
• Develop and implement mechanisms to ensure proper oversight, monitoring and recording of compliance with legislative requirements
• Establish and keep collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, including regulatory authorities and external partners

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

• While not mandatory, knowledge of Industry Standards; ISO 19600:2015 Compliance Management System and AS ISO 31000:2018 Risk Management Standards would be well regarded
• While not mandatory, Project Management qualification would be well regarded
• Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
• Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

• Temporary full time (up to 8 months)
• Base salary ranging from $5 062.30 - $5 432.80 per fortnight
