Job description

The Principal Learning and Development Manager is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating programs and activities for the Centre for Palliative Care Research and Education (CPCRE).

About the role

The Principal Learning and Development Manager is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating programs and activities for the Centre for Palliative Care Research and Education (CPCRE) that will support and enhance the delivery of palliative care services in Queensland. The Principal Learning and Development Manager also has an important strategic role in working with stakeholders at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital, academic partners, government agencies and others to meet the goals and functions of the Centre.

About you

This successful applicant will carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Fulfil the accountabilities of this rolein accordance with Queensland Health's core values, as outlined above;
  • Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of strategic and operational plans for statewide palliative care services;
  • Manage research and Development programs relevant to palliative care, including development of project proposals, implementation of educational initiatives, budget management, and preparation of reports (note: management of research will be in collaboration with the Clinical Research Program Leader for CPCRE);
  • Foster linkages and partnerships with government and non-government organisations and other key stakeholders involved in palliative care service delivery;
  • Provide advice and consultancy to government and non-government organisations and other key stakeholders to promote high quality, evidence-based palliative care education and research in collaboration with appropriately trained clinical staff;
  • Contribute to the development of web-based and other resources that support the delivery of palliative care services across Queensland;
  • Participate in professional leadership activities that contribute to the ongoing development of palliative care;
