Your opportunity
In your new role as the Principal Management Accountant (FRaMES) you will have an opportunity to provide a variety of subject-matter expertise across budgeting, financial reporting, variance analysis and related financial and non-financial analysis.
You will work closely with the Business Manager (Financial Reporting & Performance) and the broader project team members to implement the FRaMES project requirements, including production of key deliverables and other business outputs from the future technology solution.
The key responsibilities
Foster and maintain strong and effective working relationships with business representatives and stakeholders to support effective engagement and change management process across the sector.
Exercise sound and independent judgement, authority and influence to ensure that the unique requirements across key stakeholder areas are considered and reflected in the final enterprise solution.
Liaise and collaborate closely with agency peers, subject matter experts, and other project team leads and members to ensure a cohesive and aligned approach.
Lead the development and preparation of key reports and other artefacts during the testing and implementation stages of the project, underpinned by robust analysis of budget, actuals, variances, and key financial and non-financial drivers and factors.
Undertake key project lead activities in consultation with the Business Manager and broader project management team.
Provide strategic financial and operational advice to support the diverse scope of the future FRaMES solution across financial and non-financial objectives.
What experience you will bring to the role
- Experience as a Management Accountant with strong expertise in annual budgeting and related financial reporting processes, including skills in large scale accounting consolidations.
- Advanced financial and reporting analysis and problem-solving expertise to identify effective and efficient outcomes.
- Ability to understand and communicate complex technical financial concepts and capture related requirements concisely & accurately.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
- Ability to present confidently to various target audiences.
There are no mandatory qualifications needed for this role, however, relevant qualifications in business, commerce or accounting, including project management proficiency, is highly desirable.
