The Role:

We are currently seeking a Procurement Officer to join our high performing Vitrinite team.  The role is based at our Vulcan mine complex located in the Bowen Basin approximately 45km from Dysart. The Vulcan mine complex has been in production since mid-2021 and consists of the existing Jupiter and planned Vulcan North, Main and South open cut pits as well as extensive highwall mining and potential underground mining reserves.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and indirectly to the site-based SSE’s, this role is responsible for the procurement, warehousing, accounting and expediting process for the delivery of equipment and the supply of goods/services for Vitrinite and the Vulcan mine complex. This position is suited to someone who works well within a small team environment, and is capable of interacting effectively across all areas of the business. This is a unique opportunity to be part of an expanding mining organisation and to take ownership of the procurement activities across the wider business.

Roster:

The position is offered on a Monday to Friday roster based at our Vulcan Mine Complex near Dysart in Central Queensland.

Duties will include:

• Assist in the planning and delivery of end-to-end sourcing activities for indirect spend, including facilities, travel and others;

• Developing and maintaining a supplier database;

• Creating and following up purchase orders;

• Invoice reconciliation;

• Assisting with stock control and inventory management;

• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to drive continual improvement.

About the Candidate:

Ideally you will hold Diploma in Business/Supply, along with: 

• Prior experience in a similar role and competent using Pronto;

• Skilled in the use of MS Office suite, especially Excel;

• Strong verbal and written communication skills;

• Experience in the mining industry will be well regarded;

• Proficient in the use of procurement systems.
