About the role:
As a Procurement Officer, your job is to manage the purchasing process for goods and services needed by the organisation. This involves sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products at competitive prices. You'll work closely with different departments to understand their requirements and maintain efficient inventory levels.
Your role is crucial in maintaining a smooth supply chain and supporting the organisation's operations.
Responsibilities:
- Efficiently oversee inventory control departments across multiple locations.
- Implement process improvements to minimise inventory setbacks and maximise capital.
- Manage logistics, purchase orders, and stock-taking schedules effectively.
- Liaise with sales reps, suppliers, and consumers per instruction, negotiating as necessary.
- Direct and optimise full order cycle, ensuring accurate entry of purchase orders with all relevant information.
- Ensure adherence to Versace Timbers WHS Policy / Manual, utilising correct lifting techniques and varying tasks to minimise injuries.
- Maintain a conducive work environment to prevent strain, using designated walkways and reporting hazards promptly.
- Promote safety by reporting incidents, keeping the workspace clean and organised, wearing appropriate PPE, and participating in Toolbox Talks.
- Maintain safety protocols, monitor fatigue, and follow procedures for equipment, leave, and training.
- Take care of assigned equipment and promptly report any damages or faults to your manager at VT.
- Maintain professional and engaging communication with customers and staff, adhering to the Organisational Structure.
- Construct emails and reports professionally, ensuring they meet information flow needs, are easily understood, and protect business interests, while reporting policy breaches promptly.
Requirements:
- Prior experience in procurement or a similar role.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
- Solid understanding of procurement processes, including sourcing, purchasing, vendor management, and contract management.
- Excellent communication and team-work skills to interact with suppliers and other stakeholders.
