Your opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Coordinator to join the Design & Construction Team at Burwood. You will be managing the Capital and Tenancy construction works in a safe, timely, compliant and efficient manner to ensure a great customer experience in centre.

You will be meeting with Project Manager's and key stakeholders to plan the programme works, conducting site inspections and WHS observations. Review design documents to ensure fit for purpose and coordinate design & RFI's between internal & external stakeholders.

Develop project budgets and costing, coordinate subcontractors and preconstruction deliverables. Responsible for project management and reporting, contract administration in the role.

The role is Monday to Friday (predominantly business hours), subject to any urgency of work required outside of these hours/days.

You will have overall accountability for:

  • Ensure all work is delivered safely and in accordance with current WHS legislation as well as the Scentre Group People Protecting People safety culture
  • Development of budgets for capital and leasing feasibility studies
  • Liaise with the internal design and services team to manage design deliverable milestones to ensure programmed delivery dates are achieved
  • Start to finish delivery
  • Cost planning/estimating
  • Programming
  • Scoping, Tendering, commercial negotiation, procurement, contract administration
  • Coordination of on-site delivery
  • Attend and actively participate in weekly stakeholder meetings to provide updates on project deliverables
  • Procurement and administration of subcontracts within budget and in accordance with Scentre Policies & Procedures

What will set you apart from the rest?

Your previous experience as in retail construction or facilitate management and/or contracts administration will hold you in good stead to take on the challenge of this multifaceted role. Use your exceptional communication skills to influence and engage with trade professional to deliver to deadlines.

  • Degree in Construction, Project Management or Engineering
  • 3-5 years' experience in construction industry with similar experience as a Project Coordinator or Site Engineer
  • Ability to read and interpret specifications, drawings and construction documentation for accuracy and buildability
  • Some experience with construction cost management systems e.g. (Jobpac, CHEOPS. Etc)
  • Ability to work independently
  • Experience with contract administration
  • Experience with WHS and site inspections
  • Ability to communicate with diverse stakeholders and build relationships
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks by planning and prioritising
  • Knowledge of relevant construction standards and buildability
  • Experience with Planning / Programming
  • Experience in Design Coordination
  • Experience with Subcontractor Management
