Global mining organising seeking Project Coordinator/Planner for initial 6-month engagement
Your new company
Hays has partnered with a global leader in the mining industry to appoint an experienced Project Coordinator/Scheduler to an initial 6-month contract on an exciting program of work.
Your new role
As the Project Coordinator/Scheduler, you'll play a critical role in ensuring aggregated governance and timely delivery across the 7 streams that make up this program of work. Supporting the Head of Technology Projects, PMO Manager, and PMO team, your daily duties will include:
- Maintaining an existing execution phase integrated project schedule in Microsoft Project: understanding tasks, scrutinising variances in % complete planned vs actual, and having conversations with project managers to summarise a narrative for integrated reporting
- Adjusting/modifying the project schedule, ensuring the weekly/fortnightly/monthly reporting cycle outputs are delivered to the relevant stakeholder groups
- Assist Project Managers and the PMO team in monitoring project/s progress against milestones, deliverables, and budget constraints: ensuring the Project Managers are accountable for their work
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, status reports etc.
You'll be an experienced Project Coordinator/Scheduler, with a wealth of experience in similar roles previously. As there is a mix of project management tools used by each stream, an understanding and skills in MS Excel, Jira and MS Project will be required in order to manage the rolled up schedule, as well as the ability to understand technology-related project delivery language to grasp the scope of work at a high-level. Your stakeholder engagement and communication skills will be second-to-none, allowing you to scrutinise and question Project Manager's through informed conversation.
What you'll get in return
You'll be offered a 6-month contract on a business-critical program of work, partnering with a high-performing team to drive your success. There is plenty of internal opportunity beyond the end-date of this role that could see you offered another opportunity within the organisation, and there is the opportunity to work entirely remotely (with the option to go into the Brisbane office if you prefer). You'll also be remunerated at a daily rate between $800 - $850/day including superannuation.
