The reason for this role:
The Site Installation Manager – is accountable to the Project Manager for managing the construction of Goldwind Australia’s projects onsite wind turbine installation, on-site logistics operations, which includes organising human resources involved for the logistic, construction and commissioning tasks and achieve projects scheduled programme.
What you will be doing?
- Direct, motivate and lead the site personnel and subcontractors at the projects to achieve project targets.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, bill of quantities, and manage GWA installation QA documentation (e.g. Manuals, ITP’s, Permit, SWMS, VOC etc.)
- Create and implement coordinated programs for site activities and work control systems.
- Coordinate labour resources, procurement and delivery, plant and equipment, including management of subcontractors.
- Guide and supervise the GW’s overseas team in following Australian HSE working requirements and Australian standards.
- Consult with engineers, other professional and technical workers, and visibly demonstrate compliance with legislation and standards relating to the quality, environment, health and safety requirements of the projects.
- Support projects in achievement of their objectives.
- Accurately report the status of activities.
- Maintain good relations with stakeholders.
- Enhance Goldwind Australia’s reputation as a wind turbine supplier and wind farm constructor.
- Assist the Installation and Logistics Manager in the improvement of systems and documentation to support the function.
What does your background look like?
- Minimum 5 years wind turbine installation experience.
- Including 2 years working for an OEM is essential.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Commercial Acumen and knowledge of contracts.
- Negotiation skills and ability to relate to diverse stakeholder groups.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise accordingly.
- Good knowledge of construction site practices applicable legislation and site management system.
- Advanced Diploma or higher qualification in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical).
- Health and Safety Management qualifications.
Training in the following areas would be an advantage.
- OEM training in erection of wind turbines
- Quality management.
- Management and supervision of teams
- Lifting, rigging & dogging
