What this opportunity involves:
We seek an experienced Project Manager with Construction Management experience. You will take total responsibility for the effective management of all phases of a project, from initial establishment to handover and project closure of your projects.
Essential duties and responsibilities include
- Project Managers can coach, validate, and oversee deliverables the Project Coordinator's Assistant Project Managers produce.
- Manage between 5-8 projects at various stages or lead 1 2 more complex refurbishments.
- Take total responsibility for the effective management of all phases of a project (or projects) from initial establishment to handover and project closure of your projects.
- Ensure monthly project deliverables are completed. These include:
- Project Delivery Plans
- Monthly Status Reports
- Anticipated Cost Reports
- Meeting Agendas and Minutes
The successful candidate will have the following Skills:
You will have strong experience in commercial services upgrade projects, and some exposure to education projects will be an advantage.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and Microsoft Project and experience in managing cost reporting systems.
- Understand the legal environment for each project with respect to planning, commercial aspects, and delivery constraints.
- Conduct commercial negotiations with contractors, suppliers, consultants, and authorities within established limits of authority.
- Understand our obligations for complying with ISO14001, ISO45001, ISO9001 and Environmental Health and Safety legislation.
- Assist in maintaining accreditations where applicable.
- Ability to assess clients' basic needs and project constraints.
- Ability to assist in the commercial assessment of new projects.
- Have a detailed understanding of different delivery methods. I.e., Project Management, Construction Management, Managing Contractor and Warranted Price, Lump Sum, etc.
- Ability to assist in preparing project proposals and delivering presentations that may be required as part of securing new work.
The successful candidate will have the following Qualifications:
- A degree in a relevant Design, Project or Construction Management related discipline or related field and proven experience with a combination of formal education and experience which must be related to Design, Construction, or Project Management.
- Demonstrated experience with the management of projects, ideally as a Project Manager, able to manage the procurement and deliverables of a team of consultants.
