About the Role:The Project Manager - Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) will see you leading various projects within Leonardo Australia's Electronics Line of Business. The Project Manager will oversee the execution of all project activities whilst managing customer expectations and controlling the project's schedule, cost, quality and risks. Projects include Leonardo's C and S band weather radar installation, commissioning and maintenance project with the Bureau of Meteorology among others.
Key Responsibilities Include:- Managing the execution of project work within their respective commercial frameworks and providing leadership to the project team in this respect.
- Maintaining project budgets, tracking expenses against the budget and analysing variances.
- Continual reporting on project status both internally and externally
Pro-actively and autonomously monitoring project controls (KPls, schedule, cost, quality and risks). - Establish various processes to control the project's KPls, schedule, cost, quality and risks.
- Ensuring sufficient resources (both material and labour) are in place to support the schedule.
- Building rapport with customers and key stakeholders amid schedule pressures.
- Championing change control against the system and schedule baseline.
- Correcting and treating project issues and risks within project contingencies.
- Develop and maintain project plans for key project controls (project management plans).
- Supporting bid work to secure new/future business.
What Qualifications, Skills and Experience do you need to be successful in this role?
- Tertiary Qualified / Aligned Defence Project Manager Experience 3 - 5 years.
- Demonstrated experience in managing large and complex electronic systems across their capability lifecycle.
- Demonstrated experience in managing dependencies when installing and commissioning systems at customer sites.
- Experience in leading large(> $100M) electronics tender responses.
- Experience with ASDEFCON.
- Project Management qualification from a recognised body e.g. PMI, Prince, AMP, AIPM, PMP etc.
- Experience with Microsoft Project, Primavera P6 and SAP.
- Experience with EVM.
- Knowledge of ITAR requirements for the handling, storage and transport of ITAR controlled parts.
- Collaborative behaviours, excellent inter-personal skills and sound working relationships with key stakeholders, clients and subcontractors.
- Excellent report writing and verbal communications skills.
- High level of knowledge, understanding and experience of safety and environmental compliance.
- Sound international mgmt. team stakeholder experience i.e. worked in/with global businesses.
- Flexibility to travel & work across international time zones as required.
- Australian citizen eligible to obtain security clearance.
