In order to optimise vast project opportunities, HDI Lucas is implementing a new business plan which encompasses a significant fleet refresh.
To implement planned growth, the organisation has identified the need for a Project Manager who can provide constructability, program, and pricing support to our Pre-Contracts team. This person may then execute the project post award or maintain a long-term presence within pre-contracts.
You will assist in the development of bid strategies that meet client requirements and will support Estimators and Procurement personnel to generate estimates and budgets. Upon Contract award you will oversee the transition from tender to project mobilisation.
Your responsibilities will include:
Determine the viability of potential construction projects.
Assist in the development of the bid management plan.
Perform construction risk and opportunity assessments.
Manage consultants and JV partners.
Develop the construction methodology.
Review and evaluate cost estimates and budgets.
Establish relationships with clients, vendors, JV partners, and sub-contractors.
Support the creation of and review tender proposals.
Create construction budgets.
Setup weekly and monthly project forecasts
Develop a robust handover process including project handover timeline and Project Staging Plan

Profile
Qualifications/ Experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying or equivalent
3 years construction contracting experience as a Project Manager (on projects between $5-25m) or as a Senior Project Engineer (projects over $50m).
Extensive experience in Australia's heavy industrial construction sector is essential with a background pipelines and utilities highly desirable. Experience with horizontal directional drilling is not required
Strong suite of project management skills across planning, cost control and contract management
Ability to contribute to risk assessments.
Familiarity with construction contracts and their requirements.
