About the region
The Barwon South West Health Service Partnership is a collaboration among the 12 public health services in the region. It is georgraphically diverse including the larger regional centres of Geelong (Wadawurrung) and Warrnambool (Gunditjmara) as well as coastal and inland towns and rural communities. The partnership supports a range of regional initiatives, including this Aboriginal Health Improvement Initiative.

The Aboriginal Health Unit provides a holistic, innovative and strategic response for the identified needs of the community and those accessing Barwon Health. About the role
The Project Officer will work within a small team to assist in the implementing the Aboriginal Health Improvement project across the Barwon South West (BSW) region. This project aims to understand the journey and experience of First Nations people in Emergency Departments and Urgent Care Centres at Barwon Health, Colac Area Health and Portland District Health to inform and improve cultural safety. The role includes engaging with key stakeholders to assist in developing, implementing, supporting, and analysing and reporting on project initiatives.
- Full support will be provided and profesional development opportunities will be available to those open to learning skills in project management
- Due to the Project covering a large regional area we are open to multiple roles (part time or full time) with the potential to be located at any of the three participating health services
- Please note that this role may require travel throughout the region
