- Approx $55-$65 per hour plus Super depending on experience

About the role
Government department seeks an experienced Project Officer to join them on a full-time, short-term contract until end of September 2024. As the Project Officer, you will provide policy and program support to the business unit, as part of a team. The role will involve a high level of management and liaison with internal and external stakeholders pivotal to the successful outcomes of organisation's funded initiatives.
Key duties
Your key tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and presenting discussion papers, submissions, reports and briefings for committees, expert bodies, ministers, or key decision makers.
- Developing and executing a project plan for implementation including preparation of costings and budgets where required.
- Developing and implementing systems to support policy implementation.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders and develop strategies for implementing policy in a partnership approach.
- Developing a communication and/or consultation plan.
- Communicating project plans to relevant stakeholders and build capability and understanding.
- Engaging in stakeholder negotiations to reach accepted, implementable policy outcomes.
- Producing and, as appropriate, publish and distribute print and online content to communicate with diverse audiences.
Qualifications and Experience
The skills and experience you will need to demonstrate include:
- Prior experience in a policy and program support function within a government environment is required.
- Demonstrable understanding of how Government projects and programs are delivered.
- Proven capability as a self-starter and an ability to effectively undertake work independently.
- Ability to prepare and deliver communications and engagement activities.
- Good communications skills, including the ability to communicate to a range of audiences.
