The Property and Marine Underwriting Manager role plays a key leadership role in the Commercial Markets Crew for the respective State, and is accountable for ensuring Pipeline activity, top line growth and execution of go to market & underwriting strategy, plus delivery of key OKR’s for the respective Property and Marine squad. They set the day-to-day activity and priorities of the squad whilst being responsible for defining the cultural standards their teams work towards.
The role will ensure that there is effective collaboration across our sales and underwriting to achieve a strong market focus. A significant expectation is that this role provides leadership to state underwriters with a high degree of engagement in the market and across deal making activities especially in complex and highly visible accounts, integrating risk engineering and claims capabilities ensuring a whole of account view is taken.
The purpose of this role is to underwrite commercial Property and Marine insurance in accordance with Group, ZAIL and Zurich Australia requirements and financial and operational objectives, and lead the team of underwriters in State to achieve the desired business outcomes
