The Role: 

The Fertility Nurse position is designed to be main point of contact for patients and their families accessing the Public Fertility Service (PFS). They will be responsible for enabling patients and families to understand their options and the processes that they will be undertaking throughout their care journey. This role will be a part of the Mildura Base Public Hospital’s multidisciplinary Specialist Clinic team, who are all working towards the goal of delivering exceptional patient care. 

This position is 16 hours per fortnight, fixed term until June 30 2024 with no weekends or public holidays.

To be successful in this role, you will:

• Be an RN or EN with current nursing/midwifery registration with AHPRA 
• Experience working with patients with complex physical and emotional conditions
• Sound knowledge of the acute and primary healthcare systems, community supports and sources of reputable health information
• An understanding of the system barriers to equitable access to fertility care for people often underserviced by the private fertility sector
• A working knowledge, or commitment to learn the RTAC Code of Practice and other ART legislations and guidelines
