About our opportunity

Due to an internal promotion, we have an opportunity for a Public Space Permits Officer to join our dedicated team at Caboolture!

In this role, you will be processing Local Law Approval Applications for activity to take place on public land. This includes providing advice, assistance, and conditions to applicants while adhering to the statutory timeframes.

The role involves interpreting and applying State Legislation and Local Laws to activity being proposed to take place on public land. The type of activity being applied for could be of a commercial or community nature and includes applications for activities such as events, weddings, mobile food trucks, outdoor dining, altering public land, parking, signs etc.

Other responsibilities include negotiating with stakeholders, gaining an understanding of the broader functions of council and actioning customer requests.

About you

We’re looking for a team player who can build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes! 

Experience and knowledge of Local Laws, State Legislation and/or Policy relating to the permit process would be an advantage.

You will have good time management and communication skills, including verbal and written skills, to deliver quality service within our region.
