We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join the team in Ballarat, in the role of Purchasing and Procurement Officer.

The Role:
This role is critical to our business, with the main purpose to enable continued flow of production by ensuring appropriate manufacturing stock is always available.
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, you will be responsible for all procurement activities for the manufacturing process at Alevo’s Ballarat factory, ensuring purchase orders are placed on-time to meet customer’s deadlines, within allocated costs. To do this effectively you will liaise across all departments, including Sales, Manufacturing, Warehouse, and internal staff.
You will develop strong relationships with our external suppliers and vendors to ensure ongoing supply agreements are met. You will be ‘hands on’ and lead inventory improvements via our MRP software (Ostendo) and ensure all production information is correct and current for accurate Sales and Production reporting.
You will be responsible for checking inwards goods to order and quality requirements. You will also be required to assist in other company areas in various functions according to fluctuating demands.
You will be responsible for undertaking a regular cyclical stocktake to ensure stock is as accurate as possible at all times.
You will support the Manufacturing Manager in day to day tasks, including but not limited to entering new sales orders ready for production, and closing out assembly orders to ensure completed stock is ready for picking and dispatch. Also ensuring production planning and order visibility are maintained through our Monday.com interface.

- The ability to work individually with limited supervision, and as part of a team
- Strong interpersonal skills, always ready to lend a hand
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Good understanding of MRP systems – Ostendo would be well regarded
- Knowledge of ISO9001 and ISO13485 would be well regarded
- Knowledge and experience in production and manufacturing processes, including Bills of Material
- Understanding of Engineering drawings
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- A keen eye and high attention to detail
- Organised and able to meet deadlines
- The ability and willingness to step out of direct role to support others
