THE OPPORTUNITY
As our client’s ‘Purchasing Officer’, you will be at the forefront of their inventory management strategy.
This is not just a job ‘behind a desk’…
In this role, you'll experience a dynamic environment with a variety of activities. You'll have the opportunity to engage in shop work, handle goods receipting, and collaborate with production teams. Additionally, you'll be involved in project-specific ordering and ensure the seamless flow of goods, providing an exciting blend of tasks that go beyond desk work.
What you’ll be doing:
- Inventory Optimisation: Analysing demand patterns and sales forecasts to determine ideal stock levels and reorder points, preventing stockouts while minimising surplus inventory costs.
- Comprehensive Procurement: Managing the end-to-end procurement process, from identifying purchasing requirements to confirming purchase orders, ensuring materials and services meet quality standards while maximising value for money.
- Supplier Management: Identifying dependable suppliers, negotiating favorable terms, and fostering strong communication channels to ensure smooth procurement operations.
- Continuous Improvement: Monitoring KPIs, analysing procurement data, and identifying opportunities for process optimisation and efficiency gains.
ABOUT YOU
You're a meticulous professional with a trade/commercial background in supply chain and logistics, driven by a strong work ethic and genuine passion for your field. Your expertise lies in purchasing, underscored by a steadfast commitment to exceptional customer service.
To be successful, you will need:
- A trade or commercial background in supply chain and logistics, with a focus on purchasing, freight, and inventory management.
- A minimum of four years' experience in purchasing activities, demonstrating a strong work ethic and customer service focus.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite and ???? Purchasing System.
- A positive and ‘can-do’ attitude to drive success.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Self-motivated, adept at working independently while also thriving in collaborative team environments.
