Having operated in Ballarat for over 30 years, Sovereign Concrete Products is well known in Ballarat and a proud locally owned and operated business. Sovereign Concrete Products supplies precast concrete products to the Civil Construction Industry, working with large civil companies in the delivery of some of the largest projects throughout Australia.
The Role
The Purchasing Officer role will see you work with a range of long-term suppliers to ensure stock items and materials are proactively sourced and available for the production team. From negotiations with suppliers to regular stock take, materials planning, and goods receiving, your natural attention to detail, exceptional stakeholder management skills, and proactive approach will set you up for success in this long-term opportunity.
Duties
- Ensure all stock and materials are proactively sourced and available to meet production targets
- Manage relationships with suppliers, including onboarding and offboarding suppliers as required
- Coordinate purchasing activities including supplier negotiations
- Administer supply chain and purchasing management systems
- Undertake customer service including provision of quotations on Sovereign Concrete stock products
- Provide cover for logistics role during leave periods
- Demonstrated experience in a similar purchasing role, ideally within the manufacturing industry
- Ability to use a range of purchasing software systems including MS Excel
- Process driven with excellent attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in a logistics role may be advantageous
- Forklift (LF) experience and license would be advantageous
- Full-time ongoing role
