We are currently recruiting for aQuarry Purchasing Officer for our client in Thomastown VIC.
About the Role
The Quarry Purchasing Officer will be responsible for ordering, forecasting & allocating of all concrete and crushed rock orders to project sites, in addition to following up bookings / orders and allocating deliveries to maximize the efficiency and utilization of both materials and trucks.
Key Responsibilities
- Place daily orders for all concrete & crushed rock requirements
- Forecast concrete & crushed rock requirements for all projects
- Determine and arrange daily schedule of orders by project site according to volume requirements
- Allocate quarry materials to project sites
- Follow up on bookings / orders daily
- Adjust orders and allocation as required i.e. change in operational requirements, weather etc.
- Communicate adjustments with internal and external stakeholders
- Assist staff on site & the project team with all quarry orders
- Liaise with external stakeholders (suppliers)
- Liaise with internal stakeholders including Area Managers, Site Foremen and Project Managers
The Requirements
To be considered for the role you will have:
- Previous experience in civil / greenfield construction (essential)
- Have previous Quarry purchasing experience
- Must be an Australian citizen or Permanent Resident
- Reliable with strong work ethic
- Excellent customer service skills with high attention to detail
- Must be flexible and responsive to a changing work environment
- Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills
- Able to work in a team-based environment
- Intermediate to Advanced level in MS Office and ERP systems
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to build solid working relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders
- Must be a quick learner, fast thinker and skilled in making timely professional judgements
- Must demonstrate ability to prioritize work effectively and manage day-to-day issues and resolve problems with a high degree of autonomy
