My client, an industry leader who are one of the most rapidly growing companies in their field, have an opportunity for an experienced Purchasing Officer to join their team, located in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
Reporting to the General Manager, the main responsibility of this role is to maintain established relationships with external suppliers, ensure all orders are placed in a timely manner and delivered on time, negotiate best possible price & terms and liaison with all internal stake holders where required.
Responsibilities Include:
- Stock purchasing (local and overseas]
- Purchase order expediting
- Liaison with existing overseas and local suppliers
- Develop new suppliers where required to maintain competitive
- Maintaining computer systems with updated supply information.
- Reviewing and negotiating supplier pricing to ensure all costs are kept to a minimum and are always competitive.
Ideally coming from a Mechanical or Engineering industry background, your attention to detail and negotiating skills must be excellent.
Key Requirements;
- Excellent MYOB skills
- Proficient in the entire Microsoft office suite.
- Strong team player.
- Excellent relationship building skills.
