Shark Bay Salt Pty Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsui & Co. Ltd, which is one of the worlds most diversified trading, investment, and services enterprises. We own and operate two salt fields in Western Australia with our high-quality salt being exported to various overseas markets.
Our corporate head office is situated in the Perth CBD and is responsible for the accounting functions of both Shark Bay Resources and Onslow Salt.
About the Role:
This permanent position is supported by a Senior Purchasing Officer reporting directly to the Internal Control Officer.
This role is to work closely with our Onslow, Shark Bay and Perth based teams.
- Liaise with relevant internal customers regarding pricing and availabilities.
- Source quotations for requested goods and services using approved vendors.
- Approve and process purchase orders after ensuring the information is accurate.
- Run and review Pronto inventory re-order reports to maintain inventory levels.
- Review and amend inventory min/max levels based on criticality, usage and lead times.
- Periodically review the purchasing systems, processes, and procedures.
- Assistance with the booking of commercial and charter flights when required.
- Assistance with freight and logistic services as required.
About you:
- Experience in a purchasing position within the mining industry.
- Experience in Pronto – highly regarded.
- Strong negotiation and relationship building skills.
- A keen eye for detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Intermediate - Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- A highly organised approach to your work responsibilities.
- Confidence in your time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- The desire to provide excellence customer service to all stakeholders.
- Willing to complete a pre employment medical & drug and alcohol screen.
- Obtain a National Police Clearance.
