About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Purchasing Officer to join our team and play a key role in our supply chain operations. Reporting to the Purchasing & Warehouse Manager, the successful candidate will oversee purchasing functions across the company, ensuring timely procurement of goods and materials while maintaining cost-effectiveness. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and manage material inventory to meet production demands.
- Generate purchase orders for direct and indirect company expenses.
- Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
- Communicate pricing changes and procurement updates across departments.
- Liaise with suppliers to negotiate contracts and secure cost-effective deals.
- Monitor purchasing activity and prepare relevant reports as required.
- Ensure all purchase requests have appropriate approvals in place.
- Conduct supplier audits and maintain relevant documentation.
- Identify and onboard new suppliers to enhance procurement capabilities.
The Ideal Candidate will have:
- Proven experience in purchasing or procurement roles, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong negotiation skills with a focus on cost-effectiveness.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and MS Office Suite.
- Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Knowledge of export/import documentation and logistics processes is desirable.
