About the role
Reporting to the Purchasing and Logistics Lead, the P&L Officer will support Metro Mining by overseeing procurement and inventory management, ensuring smooth operations and cost efficiency.
This role is a 15:13 FIFO roster arrangement and applicants must reside in Bamaga, Mapoon, Weipa, or Cairns. Applicants not within these areas must be willing to self relocate, and state this in their resume or cover letter.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a liaison between suppliers and the business to ensure efficiency and cost minimisation
- Evaluate current and anticipated requirements, obtain bids, and plan to meet business needs
- Support the site team through reporting and communication of key information
- Collaborate with the Finance team for monthly accruals and reporting
- Ensure compliance with reporting requirements for Finance, site leaders, regulators, and other relevant bodies
- Timely release of purchase orders and accurate internal coding
- Assist with forecasting business needs such as parts, maintenance, and fuel requirements
- Maintain inventory management including fuel and work order costings
- Support the maintenance of various systems including Pronto Damstra and Quodos
- Assist in cycle stock counts and annual stocktake
Qualifications and Experience
- First Aid Certificate required
- C Class Driving Licence and Forklift Licence
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
- Minimum five years of experience in Site Services, Procurement, Buying, Contracts in the mining industry preferred
- Minimum two years of experience using Pronto or similar ERP system for inventory management
- Cert IV Business Administration highly regarded
- Strong understanding of various commercial models
- Good grasp of contractual concepts for efficient contract negotiation
- Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement across multiple disciplines
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Highly organised with the ability to deliver results under pressure
- Proven analytical and organisational ability.
- Adherence to safety, mining, and other relevant legislation.
