Nambucca Heads Island Golf Club

The Nambucca Heads Island Golf Club is Australia’s first Island Golf Club and unique amongst golf courses in Northern NSW, the Clubhouse is perched against the beautiful Nambucca River. In a setting second to none, the Club offers lunches, dinner, ala carte dining and is actively pursuing a strategy to increase its corporate and social function activity business.

The Club is seeking an enthusiastic and inspired Qualified Chef to work closely with the Head Chef and assist in the preparation of an extensive menu, frequently changing specials and multi-function meals. Building on the Club’s reputation for consistently high quality meals, the successful applicant will be able to demonstrate their ability in producing amazing meals and complement a vibrant kitchen team.

Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the Head Chef, the key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Input into menu creation and daily specials
• Training and managing staff under their supervision
• Ability to run the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef
• Procurement and stocktaking procedures
• Maintaining the Club’s polices & WHS procedures
• Technical Advancement – Remain up-to-date on all industry developments
• Benchmark standards and supervise technical work such as food safety, cleaning routines, equipment maintenance and equipment operations

Experience and qualifications for position

Required:

•    Relevant Hospitality, Chef or otherwise trade or equivalent qualifications
•    Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
•    Demonstrated knowledge of WHS Legislative Requirements

• Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident, with supporting vaccination evidence

The Club pays according to the Registered & Licensed Clubs Award 2010.  An attractive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
