AddressReporting to the General Manager this role is a great opportunity to make a difference in a growing business based in Merbein South, 20km south of Mildura.
PURPOSE
Oversee and Manage Quality, Food Safety & People Safety functions by providing direction and leadership to QA and Production staff to ensure products achieve Quality and Food Safety Standards in a Customer Focused, cost-effective manner.
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Direction and Supervision of the quality assurance functions.
- Management and maintenance of quality systems certified to SQF Version 9, including but not limited to:
- HACCP reviews and validations
- Conduct and support internal and external audits
- Management of Vendor Assurance program
- Customer sample requests
- Customer complaints
- Provide, develop, and conduct training for food safety and quality.
- Management of NCP
- Lead mock Recall and Trace exercises
- Develop, review and update SOP and product specifications
- Assist production team with technical support and compliance
- Provide, develop and conduct training for OHS for staff
- Management, Development, and review of site safety systems
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Formally qualified in Food Technology to at least a Certificate 4 level, ideally undergraduate degree.
- 5+ years experience working in the Food and Beverage industry in a comparable role
- Formal Training in HACCP principles and applications.
- Competent in the development and maintenance of SQF Food Safety / Quality Code.
- Have completed SQF practitioner and lead auditor training.
- Experience in internal and external Audits
- Strong computer skills
- Consultative attitude towards team work.
