QUALITY MANAGER
FULL TIME POSITION
Nature’s Best, a premium manufacturer of stockfeed, specialty pet foods and dog biscuits are seeking an experienced, self-motivated, highly organised and Quality Manager to join our team in beautiful northern Tasmania (Launceston based).

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, your responsibilities will include:
- Ensure that the company’s food safety and quality outcomes are continuously met with respect to relevant standards & legislation, customer expectations and internal quality systems.
- Collaborate with all departments to improve adherence to quality assurance programs, procedures, and metrics.
- Drive the review of quality systems and process by identifying quality issues, investigating root causes, and driving the implementation of corrective actions.
- Ensure quality training programs are conducted to maintain staff competency.
- Provide input and assistance to manufacturing, product development, maintenance, and warehouse teams, to maintain the process and product quality across the business.
- Maintain the document control system of the QMS.
- Drive the continuous improvement of food safety and quality culture within the business.
- Develop monthly reports and participate in monthly meetings with senior management.
- Being a key identifier of issues that affect our business whilst continually driving improvements that deliver benefits to our customers and to our profitability.
As an ideal candidate you will have:
- Experienced, self-motivated, and highly organised
- Highly developed organisational and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication, interpersonal and mediation skills
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage a varied workload in a busy environment
- Degree qualified in Management, Food Technology, Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
- Training in Continuous Improvement Systems would be an advantage.
- Thorough knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, auditing requirements and relevant legislation
- Experience in training employees in Quality standards
- Proficient in food safety environments, with an understanding of allergens, risk management and customer audit requirements
- Competency in desktop-based programs including MS Office
