Rail Fleet Coordinator | Larapinta

  • 4 x newly created onsite permanent full-time roles
  • 4 days on, 4 days off roster with AM & PM Rosters available, including weekends
  • Critical roles enabling the rail-serviced store delivery network to Far North QLD

What you’ll do

The Rail Fleet Coordinator is responsible for coordinating Direct Rail Container fleet operations for the pick-up and delivery of store orders, and Primary Connect Plus (PC+) backloads in accordance with operational requirements. The role is accountable for container fleet tracking, including management of perishable goods, scheduled maintenance, and repairs. You will also support the QLD Transport team's general operational and administrative requirements, including updating and managing TMS and producing KPI data.

  • Responsible for the timely provision of container availability to Load Planner and team for planning and resource allocation
  • Responsible for ‘in-transit’ Reefer monitoring and taking action on any identified issues
  • Arrange inspection, assessment, maintenance & repairs of Rail containers, including the coordination of external repairs
  • Maintain records for damages tracking, reporting and ongoing review of assets against the schedule
  • Coordinate the maintenance wash schedule to ensure maximum container utilisation and minimum disruption to operations
  • Update tracking and planning systems with details of equipment location
  • Assist with the development of utilisation and deployment plans that reflect real-time fleet capability

What you’ll bring

Reporting to the QLD Rail Operations Manager, the person suitable for this role will have high attention to detail, as well as:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Understanding of transport operations and Delivery to Store processes
  • Demonstrated planning and problem-solving skills, time management, and independent and cooperative working
  • Knowledge of Google & Microsoft suites and SH&E matters, including COR regulations and codes of practice
  • Exposure to container operations, Primary Connect/Woolworths operations and FMCG/Distributions would be favourably considered
