The Opportunity

We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Finance Reporting Accountant to join our Finance & Technology team on a Permanent Full Time basis. 

Reporting to the Finance Reporting Manager, you will play a key role in the provision of internal and external financial reporting for APA Group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and dissemination of comprehensive financial reports to senior leadership and the board, including variance analyses and investment details, to enable informed decision-making regarding APA's strategic and operational directions.
  • Manage the preparation of external financial reports for APA Group and its subsidiaries, including analyses of financial performance for key communications such as investor presentations, ASX disclosures, and the annual report.
  • Participate in the external audit process, ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial reporting.
  • Adapt financial reporting practices in response to changes in both internal strategies and external accounting standards, ensuring alignment with current requirements.
  • Collaborate with the team to analyse and understand the underlying causes of financial results, historical trends, and identify potential performance improvement levers.
  • Uphold high standards in reporting by adhering to established procedures, suggesting improvements to enhance reporting quality and efficiency.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial reporting processes through innovative approaches, while establishing and maintaining robust control frameworks to ensure compliance and governance across the organisation.

Your background 

  • Tertiary qualification and/or relevant work experience in related discipline. 
  • Experience operating in a fast-paced organisation within a change transformation environment. 
  • Significant experience working in Finance reporting / related roles with knowledge and experience in a range of Finance strategic and operational activities for mid-large size organisations. 
  • Accountability, sound judgement, a commitment to safety and sustainability, a strong customer focus, a drive for continuous improvement and innovation, sharp commercial acumen, and a concentrated focus, all of which are mandatory for success.

About the Team 

The Finance Division is responsible for all corporate financial activities that are related to the functioning, governance or consolidation of the group as a whole. The division is responsible for the provision of effective financial accounting and support functions to the internal business, and value add, revenue generating services to external entities.

To help APA power ahead, the team is accountable for providing financial reporting services across APA, including performance reporting and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, system enhancement proposals, processes improvements, and providing quality advice to the business.
