Respiratory Scientist / Technician

Working with one of the most well-respected Professors in Wagga Wagga, Riverina Respiratory and Sleep Clinic requires a part-time Respiratory Technician to join their team, three days per week.
   
Even though they are one of the busiest practices in the Riverina, servicing up to 90 patients a day, they don’t treat their patients like a number. Which is evident due to the majority of their patients coming from referrals or word of mouth.
  
Prof Mackenzie treats her staff like family and once you’ve built trust and embedded yourself in the business – you’ve got a job for life.  
   
The team at Riverina Respiratory take their roles seriously but not themselves. They enjoy a good laugh around the office and any egos are left at the door.

Don’t get us wrong, it is an extremely busy practice and professionalism is of the utmost importance along with being organised and efficient.
   
So, about the role;
   
You will be performing comprehensive lung function testing and assure that all tests meet accreditation standards. You are not someone who is there to tick and flick, you love to be able to connect with patients quickly and guide them to retrieving the best results.
   
You’ll have a nice balance between being confident and empathetic towards patients, along with a level of maturity to build rapport.
   
You are kind by nature. You’ll have a knack of making people feel at ease and you're happy to chip in when the practice is at its busiest.  

You will be working closely with the clinic's head scientist as well as respiratory & sleep physicians, nurses along with the administration team.

Part of your role will be to send on treatment reports to doctors, so being extremely thorough with a high level of attention to detail is key.  

You will bring a tertiary degree in Medical Science/Science, Nursing or Physio and experience in performing lung function tests would be beneficial. However, you may be someone coming from a similar medical field, who is ready to sink their teeth into the industry.
